Aims of our project are:
In Germany we will find the opportunity to learn the special education system and diagnosing process of Germany, make an observation in special needs institutions and we will arrange meetings with special needs teachers in this country.
In Italy, we will find the opportunity to learn the special education system and diagnosing process of Italy, make an observation in special needs institutions and we will arrange meetings with special needs teachers. Italian psychometrist Igor Vitale will give us education about “The Process of Development of Inventories” and “How to Write Items of an Inventory”. In this learning and training activity we will determine the sub-tests of the inventory. After this learning and training activity each country will write items for each sub-test.
In Greece we will find the opportunity to learn the special education system and diagnosing process of Greece, make an observation in special needs institutions and we will arrange meetings with special needs teachers. In this learning and training activity we will work on draft items prepared by each country, combine and simplify the items and make discussions about the items of the inventory. In this activity the inventory will become applicable. Moreover, we will compose the pretest and posttest which will be used to determine if placement of the special needs adults according to the results of the inventory will make a difference in their lives. The pretest and posttest will be used to determine validity and reliability of the inventory. After this activity each country will translate the inventory and the subtest into their languages and apply it to the special needs adults attending courses.
In Romania we will find the opportunity to learn the special education system and diagnosing process of Romania, make an observation in special needs institutions and we will arrange meetings with special needs teachers. We will discuss if any country have faced any trouble in the application of the inventory and try to fix them. We will compose scoring system, and evaluation, guidance and placement criterias. At the end of this learning and training activity we will make the final form of the inventory. After this activity each country will place the special needs adults into the courses according to the results of the inventory and calculate the statistics of the results. For 8 months the special needs adults will attend the courses they have been placed according to their needs, interests and talents. After 8 months each country will apply the post-test and evaluate the statistics of the scale with the help of psychometrists or statisticians from the universities.
In Turkey we will introduce the special education system and diagnosing process of our country, provide an opportunity for our partners to make an observation in special needs institutions and we will arrange meetings with special needs teachers in our country. In this learning and training activity we will evaluate the statistics of the inventory and see the success level of the inventory in each countries. We will make discussions about dissemination activities and evaluate the process of the project.
